HUDSON, FL—Area spinal surgeon Alfred Bonati, M.D. traveled to Washington, DC earlier this week to meet with political leaders and other medical professionals to discuss the impact of healthcare reform on physicians and their patients, as well as on small business owners and their employees.
Dr. Bonati is an acclaimed orthopedic surgeon who specializes in advanced laser spine surgery. Dr. Bonati has traveled the world and witnessed firsthand various government-controlled healthcare systems and hospitals in many other countries.
“A trillion-dollar government-run healthcare plan is simply wrong for America,” said Dr. Bonati. “We know we need healthcare reform; costs are too high and families are struggling to afford quality care. However, passing a government-run healthcare plan will raise taxes on small businesses and lead to higher costs and rationed care. As physicians, we owe it to our patients to give them the best care possible, not put these decisions in the hands of government bureaucrats.”
After concluding his meeting with Washington’s political leaders, Dr. Bonati—who is fluent in Spanish—also shared his views on healthcare with the American Hispanic community in an interview with Telemundo.
Dr. Bonati is scheduled to appear as a medical expert and guest on a Fox News special report on America’s healthcare that will air Friday evening, July 24th. Dr. Bonati is the founder of The Bonati Spine Institute located in Hudson, Florida. He is also the driving force behind the formation of the American Society of Medical Doctors (ASMD), an association that works to keep the American healthcare system focused on the relationship between physicians and their patients without government interference.
