The Bonati Institute’s Neurosurgeon, Jeffrey Walker, M.D., is Creator and Benefactor of Walker’s Rising Stars
 
October 14, 2009 - - Hudson, FL –The Bonati Institute, the leader in advanced spine surgery, recognizes the contributions that its noted neurosurgeon, Jeffrey Walker, M.D., has made to the arts in Pinellas County through the creation and sponsorship of Walker’s Rising Stars. The Walker’s Rising Stars Scholarship Competition recognizes talented Pinellas County public junior and senior high school students.
 
“At The Bonati Institute, we are all proud of not only Dr. Walker’s contribution to medicine and to the well being of patients and their families, but also of his contributions to the talented young people in Pinellas County Schools. Walker’s Rising Stars encourages and validates students, positively impacting the course their life will take,” commented Dr. Alfred O. Bonati, creator of the The Bonati Spine Procedures and Chief Surgeon at The Bonati Institute.
 
Scholarships up to $10,000 will be awarded to Pinellas County’s most outstanding solo performers in the fields of instrumental music, vocal music, theater, dance and visual arts. The competition begins with an application and essay and concludes with finalists being invited to display their works or perform at the Walker’s Rising Stars Scholarship Gala in the spring. This year’s applications for the performing arts are due to the Pinellas Education Foundation office no later than November 10,2009, and for the visual arts, January 8, 2010. Selected finalists will compete for scholarship awards on Thursday, May 27, at Ruth Eckerd Hall.
